Rec League Description

Teamwork, Fitness, Fun

Teamwork, Fitness, Fun

PWYSA Recreation Program promotes the development of female athletes through the principles of fitness, fun, and practice of softball specific-skills. Players, through teamwork, develop their skills through healthy competitive games in the spring and early summer.

Summer league games will begin in mid-May with first practices starting the first week of May and culminate in and end-of-season tournament in July. Fall's season runs from early August to late September.

***SEE BELOW FOR PRACTICE AND GAME DAYS FOR EACH DIVISION***

For 8U-18U we will look for and seek to provide optional opportunities for skill and team development that may include additional practice, scrimmages, and possible games or tournaments.

Volunteer Credits

Our association is a parent-run volunteer association.  As such, we have a volunteer requirement for all registered players.  You are able to fulfill this obligation one of two ways, buyout by paying a set fee ($100.00), or complete required hours by completing qualifying DIBS hours (3 hours) or volunteer as a coach or board member (coaching status must be confirmed by the rec or travel director.)

Please select your commitment for the Summer 2024 season:

  1. I choose the buyout, to be paid with this registration
  2. I commit to completing my required volunteer hours*

*If you are unable to complete your committed hours, you will be expected to pay for any hours remaining and will be billed as such.  Any unpaid balances MUST be paid prior to any future registration of that player for PWYSA seasons.

For any DIBS related questions, please contact our Volunteer Director, Steph Horton at pwysadibs@gmail.com

REC IN ACTION

Weather Information

In case of in climate weather, according to the city of Plymouth website, we can call 763-509-5205 to check for cancellations. It will be up to the coaches to check fields to see if they are fit to play on, if it is not raining and the infields do not have standing water, the games should be played. If the coaches feel the fields are not playable, please contact your players. It is the responsibility of the HOME coach to contact the umpire scheduled for the game and let the umpire know the game will not be played.
Games should be suspended if thunder can be heard and/or lightening seen. A storm is within 10 miles.

RAINOUTS

Due to a lack of field space, if a game is rained out, the PWYSA does not reschedule rainout games. If teams wish to play make up games, it is the responsibility of the coaches to contact PWYSA.
